P.S. if it is also possible, does anyone have a copy of robinson crusoe of clipper island to post on this site,
i saw it on several public domain lists and wondered why it
wasn't already posted.

according to US law the date of that work "riders of death valley" had to be renewed with 27-28 year, a very narrow renewal window. That would put the serial date of 1933/34. Early renewal of 1960 apperently is an illegal renewal. Therefore the Copyright office goofed according to U.S. law. Several web pages explain about the copyright renewal. I'm not pulling this out of hat. check out the renewal of copyright works.

According to US law it is. I do not see according to the Copyright laws any early copright renewal. If I am wrong then show me in the laws.

http://chart.copyrightdata.com/ch07.html

read the top it is 27th or 28th year, not whenever you want. 1960 renewal is too early and not appropriate.

the PD companies are not stupid. They want no lawsuit. They have lawyers and researchers.
